Session 2

Music Video Production

Bringing Music to the Screen

Turn music into visual storytelling. In this hands-on program, students explore how sound, performance, and filmmaking come together to create compelling music videos. Working with music across a range of styles—from popular and jazz to classical—students develop concepts, plan and film performances, and shape their work through cinematography, audio, directing, and editing. The program culminates in an original music video that brings their creative vision to the screen.

Professor Zoë Alyce Salnave is an award-winning filmmaker and educator whose work in directing, producing, and teaching is grounded in more than fifteen years of experience creating space for diverse voices, women, and marginalized communities to be heard, explored, and uplifted. Professor Salnave's research centers on collective, societal, and diasporic memory and on how stories are carried, inherited, and retold across cultures, shaping both film production and the communal experience of watching and re-experiencing story as a modern fireside tradition.
