Eric Chapman joins McGeorge as a Research and Instructional Services librarian. Chapman leads the library’s research support services for faculty and students, including assistance in foreign and international law. He will also oversee collection development, provide legal research instruction, and create and maintain legal research guides.
Before joining McGeorge, Chapman served for three years as the Assistant Pasadena Branch Librarian for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Prior to his work with the court, he practiced as a civil defense litigator in Washington for three years and spent two years serving as a judicial law clerk in Alaska’s trial courts. Chapman maintains an active presence in the law library profession through presenting, writing, serving on professional committees, and guest lecturing in law school and graduate school programs. Eric earned his JD, along with a certificate in Intellectual Property Law, from Lewis & Clark Law School, and his Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Washington, where he specialized in law librarianship.
A Seattle-area native, Chapman enjoys running, cycling, and relaxing with a good book and a snifter in hand. A former dancer and stage performer, he is also an enthusiastic supporter of both local and professional theatre.
