Dear Pacific Summer High School Institute Families,

Thank you for enrolling your student. Before they can join us this summer, we need to make sure that we have all necessary information from you.

Every student of the Pacific Summer High School Institute will have their own Pacific ID card, which they will swipe for meals, for entry into their residence hall and much else. You can upload your student's ID photo on our enrollment portal, so that we can welcome them to our campus with the photo ID card ready for them.

While we want students to embrace new experiences, including living with a new roommate in a college residence hall, we also understand that in some cases, a student may have a request to live with a specific person.

We are happy to accommodate roommate requests, as long as they are according to the following two criteria: Roommate requests need to be 1) for the same gender; 2) need to be mutually agreed upon, meaning both students need to request each other. Roommate pairings will be based on the submitted Pacific ID numbers. You can find the Pacific ID in an email that you received shortly after registration, with the subject line "Your Pacific ID."

You can submit the photo and this information one of the following ways:

Preferred method: Please go to pacific.jumbula.com and after logging in, click Home in the menu bar, which will give you a list of forms to fill out.

  • If you haven’t already filled out the "2025 Medical Form", please do it immediately.
  • Then, please click on Fill it now next to the "2025 ID Photo Upload and Roommate Request" form and edit the form, where you can both upload the ID photo and request a specific roommate. Roommate pairings will be based on the submitted Pacific ID numbers (and not by names), so make sure that the ID numbers are correct.

Alternate method: If the above didn’t work, you can go to a simple online form, where you can both upload the ID photo and request a specific roommate. Again, roommate pairings will be based on the submitted Pacific ID numbers, so make sure that they are correct.

Only in case where neither of these methods work: You can also email the photo directly to idphoto@pacific.edu and put the Pacific ID for your student into the subject line.

To learn more on how prepare for our summer institute, please keep studying the enrolled students pages on our website.

Check-in

We will welcome you to campus on Monday, June 2 between 7:30am–11am at the DeRosa University Center (building 60 on our campus map).

  • Students with last name A–G: please plan to arrive between 7:30–8:30am.
  • Students with last name H–O: please plan to arrive between 8:30–9:30am.
  • Students with last name P–Z: please plan to arrive between 9:30–11:00am.

For check-in, you may park in parking lots closest to the DeRosa University Center. Your student's first stop should be at the DeRosa University Center Ballroom, where they will pick up their ID card, receive their housing keys, receive their orientation materials, and where you will complete any remaining forms. To speed up this process, ensure that your student brings their school ID or another form of ID, if they have one. You should not bring your student's bags or belongings into the check-in space.

Parking and unloading

At check-in, you will be informed which residence hall your student will live in and the parking area that is designated for unloading to that building. After your student receives the ID card and key, you can proceed to that building to unload their belongings.

If you choose to use a loading zone to unload your student's belongings, but wish to stay a little longer, please be sure to move your vehicle to a nearby parking lot. On check-in and check-out days, parents and families will be allowed to park for free in any parking marked A, B, or C. As a friendly reminder, students are not permitted to bring vehicles with them to campus while participating in the Pacific Summer High School Institute. University parking is by permit only and non-permitted vehicles will be cited each day.

After move-in

Parents are free to leave right after their students moved in, but campus tours will be available for interested students and parents, which start from the DeRose University Center front desk from 9–11am. There are no other parent and family programs offered beyond 11am and we will ask parents and families to leave campus by that time.

At 11am, students are required to go directly to Knoles Lawn for lunch and their Orientation Welcome Session and Program Overview. After this session, students meet with their faculty leads, who will lead them to their academic programs, which run until 5pm.

At 5pm, dinner is available for students, along with community building activities with their peers. At 9pm, students will return to their residence halls to participate in floor meetings with their Resident Assistants. With the exception of moving students into their rooms, parents, family members, and guests are not permitted in the residence halls at any time during the summer institute.

Dear Pacific Summer High School Institute Families,

We hope your students have had a great start to their academic or athletic programs during this first week! It’s been a joy to see them learning, engaging, and having fun.

As we head into the weekend and prepare for the final week of the program, we’d like to share a few important reminders and updates.

While staying on campus and joining weekend activities is part of the pre-college experience, we understand that some families may have prior commitments or wish to spend time together. If you plan to sign your student out for the weekend, please do so at the DeRosa University Center Front Desk. Of course, if you miss them (we’re sure they miss you too!), you are welcome to visit and enjoy our beautiful campus together.

We have several fun, family-friendly activities planned for the weekend, including:

  • Movie on the Lawn – Saturday and Sunday evenings
  • Arts and crafts
  • Board games
  • Catholic Mass in our beautiful Morris Chapel

We also want to inform you that the Pacific campus will be used as a filming location from today until the end of Session 1. Please note the following impacts:

  • Parking Lot 7 (behind the fraternity and sorority houses closest to the DeRosa University Center) will be closed for the remainder of the program.
  • Please use Lot 6 or other available parking lots via the Pershing Avenue entrance of our campus. View campus map here.

In addition, from the evening of June 9 through June 12, the Pacific Avenue entrance and surrounding parking lots will be fully closed. Some street and pedestrian access may be rerouted or temporarily closed during this time. Expect to see additional vehicles, personnel, and equipment around campus.

We’ll continue to share updates as needed to ensure you’re informed of any changes that could affect your students’ experience during their final week. Your students have already begun forming meaningful connections, engaging in thoughtful discussions, and enjoying hands-on experiences. It’s been a pleasure to have them with us, and we look forward to an exciting final week!

Dear Pacific Summer High School Institute Families,

As we approach the final day of the Institute, we want to thank you for sharing your students with us. It has been a vibrant and inspiring two weeks on campus! Below, you will find all the important information you need to ensure a smooth and successful move-out and Closing Day on Thursday, June 12th.

Move-Out Details

Students will move out of their residence halls between 7–9 AM on Thursday, June 12th. To ensure a smooth process, please review the checklist below:

Wednesday, June 11th

  • Students should pack all of their personal belongings.
  • Resident Assistants (RAs) will remind students to clean their rooms and take any trash to outdoor dumpsters (not residential bathrooms).

Thursday, June 12th

RAs will escort their floor residents together to the DeRosa University Center Ballroom for key return. Before departing their rooms, students must:

  • Take trash to designated dumpsters (not bathrooms)
  • Remove all personal items
  • Place linens in the first-floor lounge of their building (leave pillows in the room)
  • Turn off lights and close windows
  • Leave their room door open

Students then bring their key to the DeRosa University Center Ballroom before 9 AM. Their luggage will be stored on the DeRosa University Center Lawn and monitored by security. Students will receive a luggage tag and we strongly recommend that they take a photo of the tag for reference.

Parent/Guardian Arrival and Luggage Pickup

Families should plan to arrive to campus at around 3 PM, to join their student at the Program Presentations. Luggage pick-up is at 5 PM, after the Closing Ceremony. Please do not attempt to pick up luggage earlier, especially while students are in class or without the luggage tag. Please note that guests are not permitted inside the residence halls.

Parking Advisory

Due to ongoing filming on our campus, some areas are restricted.

  • Lot 7 (behind Greek houses near the DeRosa Center) is closed.
  • Parking along Presidents Drive is restricted.
  • The Pacific Avenue entrance is affected — use the Pershing Avenue entrance instead.
  • We suggest parking in Lot 6 or other nearby parking lots.

For GPS directions, enter: 1178 Larry Heller Drive, Stockton, CA 95211. This will take you to the Pershing Avenue entrance of campus. You can park right there or follow the road until you reach Lot 6 on the west side of the DeRosa University Center. View the Campus Map here.

Closing Day Schedule for Thursday, June 12th

  • 7–9 AM | Residential move-out, housing key return and breakfast
  • 9 AM – 3 PM | Students attend classes and have lunch as usual
  • 3–3:30 PM | Families arrive, head to student presentations. View the Presentation locations here.
  • 3:30–4:15 PM | Program Presentations
  • 4:30–5:00 PM | Closing Ceremony in DeRosa University Center Ballroom (Light refreshments will be served.)
  • 5–6:00 PM | Luggage pick-up and departure

Students are officially checked out from the Summer Institute when the Closing Ceremony concludes. If they need to wait for pickup, they may stay in the DeRosa University Center until 6 PM. If your student doesn’t have a cell phone or if you are unable to find them, instruct them to wait in that space.

We loved having your students on campus and are proud of all they have accomplished! Stay connected with the Summer High School Institute and University of the Pacific on social media for year-round news and opportunities.
